FreezPak Logistics Securing a More Sustainable Footprint

Carteret, NJ – June 2, 2022 – FreezPak Logistics, a leading 3rd party food logistics company, has announced solar projects in 3 of its locations. The company is looking forward to moving towards clean electricity with a good portion of the company’s total electricity coming from a renewable energy source.

A family-owned business with headquarters in Carteret NJ, FreezPak has been a part of the cold storage industry for over two decades. FreezPak celebrated their 20th anniversary in August 2021 and is continually ahead of the curve with exploring ways it can be more environmentally sustainable. Mike Saoud Co-CEO said, “Our company is very focused on controlling cost, not only for the bottom line, but to also continue our support to be closer and closer off the grid. The use of hydrogen fuel cells, solar panels, upgraded dock equipment, and most recently the use of ammonia refrigeration systems. These are all components in becoming a more sustainable organization. The use of our hydrogen plants will also pay off in the very near future with hydrogen tractors coming into the market.”

Combined, FreezPak Carteret and Elizabeth are expected to generate 2,832,900 kWh (kilowatt hours) in their first year of clean electricity generation. The anticipated environmental impact over 25 years, will be significant in both locations.
